THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT IN STOCKPORT

That’s Entertainment In Stockport

Construction work and development activities can be seen as a double-edged sword in many areas, with Stockport and Greater Manchester being no exception. In the long-term, there needs to be a little short-term pain in the development of new homes, business centres and leisure areas but that short-term can often be problematic. At the moment, this is a story that is taking place all across Stockport but there is one massive venture taking place beside the M60 that is grabbing a lot of the attention.

The appearance of white girders has caught the eye and it is this steel framework that will form the basis for the new entertainment complex coming to Stockport. This is a project worth £45 so it is understandably a major piece of work. This is the Redrock Development and by the time the work is completed there will be a range of shops, restaurants and a cinema with ten screens in Stockport. This is something that will hopefully be of benefit to the local community, adding a further reason to live, work and enjoy your time in Stockport.

Stockport is on the up and Redrock is a big part of this

The groundwork at the site, close to the Stockport Viaduct, has been going on for a notable period of time but in the last couple of weeks there has been a change of pace with respect to visible signs of work taking place. This structure is set to be joined by many similar structures and there are some big names lined up to be part of the entertainment and fun in Stockport in 2017. It was announced that Gourmet Burger Kitchen is expected to open a venue at Redrock and they should be joined by Pizza Express and Zizzi.

There has been a great deal of support for this scheme by Stockport Council and this is just part of the Investing In Stockport programme. There is a total of £1 billion being ploughed into this project and it is likely that there will be serious long term benefits in the area. While Redrock isn’t scheduled to open until November of 2017, you can’t blame people for being excited and looking ahead to what is coming next.

You can see why we’d be supportive of this sort of venture. Anything which provides more opportunities to enjoy pizza, burgers and films in Stockport is well worth celebrating but the scale of the investment is important. This is going to help people generate income and it is going to add plenty of things to do for people in Stockport. With this in mind, we believe this entertainment development is going to have a positive impact on Stockport life.
