STOCKPORT PUBS ARE ALWAYS A WINNER

Stockport Pubs Are Always A Winner

There are many things that help to make an area attractive to stay in and the quality of food on offer is a big factor for many people. Some people like the idea of living in a sociable area with plenty of great bars and restaurants to choose from. This isn’t something that everyone considers to be a top priority when it comes to living in an area, but whether you are out every night or you just enjoy dining out on special occasions, having good options to choose from is always a bonus!

This is why people living in Stockport will be delighted to learn that 7 venues in the area have made it on to the shortlist of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards. This is the highest ever total for the borough and there are hopes that one or two awards will be winging their way to Stockport very shortly. Of course, the fact that 7 venues have been recognised for their quality is impressive and this will hopefully instil more local pride in the area.

Venues that have been recognised include:

  • Foodie Friday
  • The Magnet
  • Baker’s Vaults
  • The Oddfellows
  • Heaton Hops
  • Brassica
  • Indian Tiffin Room

This is a diverse selection, which is positive because it means that there should be something for everyone. Foodie Friday is an event that takes place every month and this has been nominated in the pop-up category. It is always good to have local pubs recognised and The Magnet and Baker’s Vaults are in the running for the Pub of the Year, which is a prestigious award.

Craft beer lovers have a reason to come to Stockport

Another pub that has been recognised is The Oddfellows, which is in the running for Food Pub of the Year and given the growing popularity of craft beers, the inclusion of Heaton Hops in the Craft Ale Bar of the Year section should boost business. All of the venues that have been listed will hopefully see more locals popping in to see what all of the fuss is about and with a number of venues receiving recognition in the local area, you may even see people travelling in to Stockport to enjoy what is on offer. Having a number of pubs in the local area recognised as worth visiting can only be good for drawing people to the region.

When it comes to dining options, Brassica is in the running for the Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year award and the Indian Tiffin Room is up for the Casual Restaurant Award.

The voting process runs until September 28th, with people encouraged to back their favourite venue. The following day, September 29th, sees the beginning of the Food and Drink Festival, which runs through until the 10th of October.

When there is pride and excitement in the local community, everyone benefits and at Spencer Harvey, we are always happy to raise a glass to Stockport success, however it comes along.
