As a Stockport estate agent, we obviously have a keen interest in the Stockport property market. However, the property market isn’t just about houses and property prices. Many factors impact on the property market and to create demand for property, there needs to be a lot to like about local life. This is one area where Stockport has improved significantly in recent years. There have been many developments which have changed the face of Stockport, but it is the shops, ventures and outlets that are bringing Stockport to life.
Stockport is a cool place to be
A very important accolade was bestowed on Stockport recently because it is not every day or week that you hear somewhere being referred to as the “coolest restaurant in Britain”. This was the comment from Steve Plotnicki, who is a food critic from America, having been a record label boss earlier on in his life. Plotnicki was touring Greater Manchester with The Telegraph and it was Where The Light Gets In that took his breath away, standing out from the crowd and marking itself out as the obvious choice in Greater Manchester and Great Britain.
It appears there was initial concern about a lack of a wine list in the venue, but the sommelier made an excellent choice, which seemed to wow the dining party. While the praise is eye-catching, it would be fair to say that there has been consistent praise for the restaurant in recent times. It has been recognised in a Top 10 of restaurants in the United Kingdom and if you get a five -star review, you are clearly doing something right with what you offer to customers.
It is good to share positive news on social media
As you’d expect, the restaurant has been keen to share this review, with the team taking to social media to spread the good news. After you receive a review like this, you can be magnanimous to other restaurants, highlighting some of the other restaurants featured in the overall review from the food critic. Then again, this would also have served to highlight the fact that none of these restaurants were classed as the coolest restaurant in Britain!
There is no denying the importance of good restaurants and cool places to hang out in developing a new image and identity. This is something that has been handled and introduced well in Stockport in recent times, helping to move the local area forward. It is great to see so much development work taking place in Stockport, but it is the effort of so many local business owners that matters to many when it comes to finding a home in a fantastic area.
