STOCKPORT CAFé GOES VIRAL

Stockport Café Goes Viral

When it comes to driving traffic towards your business, you need to give it everything you have got. In the present day, the internet can have such a huge impact on the success or failure of a business. Whether you have people talking about your business on social media sites or you can be reviewed on sites like TripAdvisor, you need to get the public on your side. For a small business, positive reviews are hugely important and can often make or break your business.

However, it would be unrealistic to think that you would never receive a bad or negative review. Even if your business is on top form 95% of the time, if the reviewing customer falls into that 5% of the time, you are going to be in trouble. This is why you need to know how to respond and react to negative reviews. You shouldn’t delete negative reviews, you should look at them as an opportunity to change people’s opinions or learn how you can offer a better service to your clients.

Stockport coffee shop brews up interest and excitement

One coffee shop in Stockport received a negative review recently but rather than taking it to heart, they used it in a positive manner. The Nook Neighbourhood Café wouldn’t have been pleased to read that a customer said they had served the worst porridge they had ever tasted. This may have led them to reconsider their porridge recipe or check to see if they had any issues on a particular day. Or, they could dig out their chalk and reference the negative review on a board outside of their property.

This quick thinking has seen the company’s content being shared all over the world, giving the company a “viral hit.” This may seem slightly pointless, people outside of Stockport are unlikely to travel to the outlet for a coffee or snack because of a funny sign, but it has created a buzz in the local community. People like being a part of things and with local residents stopping by to see the store and take snaps of the latest comments, there is an awful lot of publicity being generated around the coffee store.

Given the buzz and excitement of the previous message, the manager of the coffee shop has continued with this approach. It shows the company in a light-hearted and fun way, and anything which keeps the name of the company in the minds of local residents has to be seen as a good thing.

It is not as if Stockport companies should go out of their way to get a bad review so they can use it to their advantage later on, but it is a reminder that you can take positives from negative aspects. And of course, it is another reminder that Stockport is at the centre of everything good and interesting!
