There are many factors that go into making an area more desirable or of greater interest to potential buyers. The look and condition of property will understandably be a factor, but what the area has to offer should also be considered when it comes to finding the ideal home. If an area is able to offer a lot of what people need, it is likely to be an area that is in high demand.
One thing that is a big factor in ensuring people want to stay in an area is the support and facilities on offer for children. When it comes to finding the ideal home for a family, the volume, location and quality of schools and educational facilities will be a factor. Different parents and families will have different needs, so it is impossible to please everyone, but any positive news about nurseries or schools in an area will be a good thing for the property market.
A new nursery benefits Stockport
This is why the news that a new nursery has officially opened in Offerton in Stockport is something that benefits the whole community, not just parents of children who will use the facility. While the pupils at the Bank Lane Infants Nursery have been using the building for the summer term, the official opening took place on Tuesday 26th of July with Mayor Chris Gordon in attendance.
There has been a considerable amount of money invested into the project, close to £1m according to some sources, but it should be of great benefit to the community. The project was first announced back in 2010 and fundraising activities for the nursery got underway in 2012. 80% of the cost of the nursery has been provided by Stockport Council while the remaining 20% has been raised by the school.
There are 40 places for children at the nursery and there is progression into the infant school which has space for 270 pupils. There is a range of new facilities on offer in the nursery which should help the learning process and make parents and their children feel a lot happier about the facility. There is also an outside play area. This has been supported with a £10,000 grant which has come in from the Lottery.
The new nursery is a massive step forward from the previous building, which had fallen into a bad condition. This was knocked down in 2015 after a planning application for the new nursery had been submitted and then approved.
