In life, it is often the intangible benefits that matter the most. If you are buying a home, it is the bricks and mortar and the legal ownership of the land that are the most important things when it comes to concluding a property deal. However, when you eventually look back on your time at the property, it is the moments, the celebrations and the time spent with other people in the home that really matters.
This is something we understand at Spencer Harvey. No matter what service you are buying from us, we know that the benefits you are looking for are almost side-products of what we provide. When we offer you the widest range of properties in Stockport, we are actually saving you time, time which you can use in other ways. When we liaise with other estate agents and relevant parties, we aren’t just using our experience to ensure you are well represented, we are minimising the time you need to spend and the level of work that you have to put in. Rather than getting yourself all worked up about being in an uncomfortable situation or worrying about what other people will say to you, we take care of all of that. This provides you with confidence and peace of mind.
We think that confidence and peace of mind are two of the most important things we offer, and this is why we are pleased to say that we are full members of industry recognised associations like ARLA, NAEA and TPO. We will now talk about why being a member of ARLA is so important for an estate agent and will explain the importance of the other bodies in future blogs.
The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA)
ARLA was formed back in 1981 and it stands as the regulatory and professional body for letting agents. ARLA is now regarded as the leading professional body for letting agents in the UK with close to 8,000 members.
When you choose an agent that is licenced by ARLA, like Spencer Harvey estate agents, you can be confident that:
- You are working with an agent that is covered by the ARLA Client Money Protection Scheme
- You are working with a body that provides Professional Indemnity Insurance
- That the company has qualified and trained agents who undergo annual training and development
- That there is a Code of Practice and Rules of Conduct for the company to follow
Perhaps most importantly, working with an ARLA agency ensures that you have a route of redress if you feel as though things haven’t gone right or were executed in the manner you expected. At Spencer Harvey estate agents, we are well aware that a failure to follow the rules and regulations of ARLA can lead to our company being fined and even be expelled from the organisation.
Landlords and tenants would be right to question why their letting agent wasn’t a member of ARLA, so the consequences of failing to meet the expected standards are very serious for firms. We believe that we provide the highest standard of service to our customers at all times but we believe that it is important that you have the right to complain or receive assistance if you feel as though you haven’t received the standard of service that you should have received.
